Buyer Guide

MSRPs below are WPN-published suggested prices from the First Look: Play Booster $5.49, Collector $26.99, Multiverse Reforged $49.99, Foundations Commander $29.99, Bundle $57.99, Secret Lair Bundle $89.99, Draft Night $89.99. Street prices vary. Contents: products.

If you Limited

Buy Play Boosters or a Play Booster box. That is the format pack. Add a prerelease ticket at a store; do not hunt an At-Home kit, it is retired. If you have exactly four players and hate leftover packs, Draft Night is cleaner than a 30-pack box. If you have eight players, the box is cleaner than two Draft Nights.

Skip Collector Boosters for Limited. Treatments do not make a 40-card deck better. Skip the Secret Lair Bundle for the same reason unless you like the extras.

If you play Commander

Buy Multiverse Reforged if you want the 18 new FRC cards and a ready WUBR Jace deck. Buy FRA singles later for Bloodline Recollector, Craterclaw, and walkers. Do not buy five Foundations decks thinking they are “the Reality Fracture Commander cycle.” They are starters with reprint lists. See Commander.

If you collect

Collector Boosters are the serialized Bloodline Recollector, Japan Showcase, facet foils, and extra Booster Fun. Secret Lair Bundle is the way to get two Collectors plus unique promos without a whole Collector box. A normal Bundle is not a collecting SKU; it is nine Play Boosters in nicer cardboard.

Serialized Recollector is 500 English copies in Collector Boosters of any language. Chasing it with Play Boosters is the wrong tool.

If you are buying a gift

Bundle for a player who opens packs. Draft Night for a group. Multiverse Reforged for an EDH friend. Prerelease Pack only if you are also handing them a store ticket. Foundations decks for someone learning Commander this month, with a note that they are not the set’s story deck.

If you only play Arena

Buy gems / the Mastery Pass, not paper SKUs. Read Arena. Echoed pairs still exist digitally; you do not need a Secret Lair Bundle to see them.

Combinations that waste money

Draft Night plus a Play box plus a Bundle is three ways to own the same Play Boosters. Pick one Play-adjacent SKU. Secret Lair Bundle plus a Collector box is a lot of Collector odds; pick one unless you are actually collecting. Foundations five-pack plus Multiverse Reforged is fine only if you teach Commander and want the Jace deck.

A simple default cart

  1. Prerelease ticket.
  2. One Play-adjacent product (box, Bundle, or Draft Night).
  3. Multiverse Reforged or nothing, depending on Commander.
  4. Collector or Secret Lair Bundle only with a collecting budget you will not miss.

Then run the preorder checklist so the dates match. If you still do not know, watch the embed on this page and compare it to the SKU list — the video is a buyer’s tour, not a substitute for knowing whether you draft.

Legal reminder: this wiki is unofficial. Preorder through your LGS, TCGplayer, Amazon, or other retailers Wizards lists on the product page. Official links and stores are the jumping-off points.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is Draft Night a good deal?

It is a convenience SKU for four-player Pick-Two, not a cheaper box. Buy it for the table size, not the EV.

Should I buy Collectors to draft?

No. Draft with Play Boosters. Collectors are treatments and chase foils.

Do I need the Secret Lair Bundle?

Only if you want two Collectors plus the exclusive promos. Limited players can skip it.

Are Foundations decks required?

No. They share a street date. They are not FRC and not required for Reality Fracture Limited.
