Liliana the Faultless — one white mana, soul-sister cleric
Liliana the Faultless is a rare legendary Human Cleric. Cost: W. Previewers at MagicCon Amsterdam treated her as the “wait, that cannot be the cost” card of the First Look. She gains you life when your creatures enter — a Soul Warden / Soul’s Attendant shape — and can grant hexproof to protect a threat. In an Echoverse where Jace deleted the worst things that ever happened to her, she is the version who stayed a healer. Flavor text and story will argue about whether that peace is a gift or a cage; the card does not wait for the argument. She is a one-drop legend.
Limited: she is an S-tier Sealed open. A one-mana life engine that also wears hexproof duty will steal games you had no business winning, especially in Fatehold (white-blue) and Vigorbloom (green-white). Do not splash her into a four-color pile just because she is famous. She still needs a white source on turn one to be the card people filmed.
Constructed: one-mana legendary creatures with a Soul Sister trigger get banned, ignored, or become the reason a deck exists. Exhaust: return a creature or planeswalker card from your graveyard to the battlefield, put a +1/+1 counter on Liliana, activate only as a sorcery, and you may do that Exhaust only once. She is the Multiverse Liliana living with the bodies. Mill is fuel. Exhaust is the once-per-game reanimate that makes the mill matter. In Stingerquill (black-red) she is a role player: you want cheap creatures to die and enter so the mill stacks, then you spend Exhaust on the best thing in the yard. The Lorwyn Five were printed as planeswalkers in 2007. Reality Fracture brings them back as a character event, but the story has already taken Liliana’s spark. Wizards did not print a zero-loyalty walker as a gag. They printed two creatures so the pair still occupies the echoed-pair slot without pretending she can plus for loyalty. If a later spoiler adds a Liliana planeswalker, this page will say so. As of late August 2026, Scryfall has Faultless and Repentant, not a FRA Liliana walker.

Sealed: you open both. Sort white and black piles. If white is deep, Faultless is your start. If black is deep and white is a splash, Repentant is the two-drop you keep and Faultless may sit in the sideboard box. If both piles are deep, you still only have forty cards — pick the school, then keep the Liliana that matches it. The pair slot is not a promise that both legends make the deck.
Draft: the pair comes out of one pack. You take both cards when you take the slot. Passing a pack with this pair is passing a one-mana mythic-shaped rare and a two-mana reanimator. That is a table signal. If you are already in red-green Konstrari, you still take the pair for the rare equity and the possibility of a splash; you do not force white-black because a famous name said hello.
Commander Night: Faultless is the easy include. Repentant is the graveyard deck include. Neither is the face of Multiverse Reforged; that deck is four-color Jace. Do not buy the precon “for Liliana.” Buy singles after the October 2 street date if you still want them.
