Jace and Chandra have their own pages because they are the poster split. Everyone else lives here until a character earns a full article. Names below were public on Scryfall in late August 2026. More pairs will land after the September 8 debut; this page will grow instead of inventing them now.

Garruk — Curse Breaker and Veiled Butcher

Green Garruk, Curse Breaker, is the Multiverse hunter trying to be better. Black Garruk, Veiled Butcher, is the Echoverse hunter Jace can live with — or the one Jace fears, depending on how you read the butcher title. Both are mythic planeswalkers. Limited: green midrange bomb versus black midrange bomb. Constructed: both were called “real” in Amsterdam previews. Commander: two new Garruk identities is a gift for hunter decks that already own the old ones.

Ajani — Resolute and Unrelenting

Ajani Resolute is white and cheap (two mana in the spoiled file). That alone puts him on the early cards A-tier. Ajani Unrelenting is red and more expensive, a color Ajani almost never sits in. The experiment is temperament: mentor versus fury. Fatehold wants Resolute. Stingerquill or Konstrari might want Unrelenting. Do not splash red for Unrelenting unless the rest of the pool is already red.

Liliana — Faultless and Repentant (creatures)

These are legendary creatures, not planeswalkers. Full article: Liliana. Short version: Faultless is a one-mana white Human Cleric (life gain, hexproof). Repentant is a two-mana black Human Warlock (mill, Exhaust reanimate). The pair still occupies the echoed-pair slot. White Liliana grades S on the early list; black Liliana is a BR role player. Wait for story text before you decide which half is “the real one.”

Tinybones and Titanbones

Tinybones, Pocket Nuisance is a black Skeleton Rogue uncommon. Titanbones, Towering Heart is a green Skeleton Druid uncommon. Same character family, opposite end of the size joke. Sealed players will overrate Titanbones because it is a legend; it is still an uncommon body. Tinybones is the pest you have seen before. Together they teach that pairs are not always mythic walkers.

Bloodline Recollector

Not a planeswalker. A Hexhaven cadet, vampire warlock, Prepared mythic, Collector headliner illustrated by Mark Poole in the serialized treatment. Included here because people search “headliner” next to Jace. Mechanical home: black death decks. Story home: the school that sculpts mages for the Theorist. Hexhaven and early cards do the rest.

Darksteel Angel

FRC-only. Not a walker. A Commander cameo using unused Mirrodin Pure art: what if Mirrodin won. Mentioned here so you do not look for her in Standard or in the pair slot. Commander owns the card.

How to think about color-shifted echoes

Wizards stayed inside the color pie. These are not Planar Chaos “red Counterspell” jokes. Chandra is blue because ice and compliance can be blue. Garruk is black because butchery can be black. Ajani is red because unrelenting fury can be red. Liliana is white because a Faultless cleric can be white. If a future pair looks “off-pie,” read the abilities before you tweet; the design brief was explicitly not Planar Chaos.

When a new pair spoils, add it to this list in your head with two questions: which half is the Multiverse, which half can I cast in my Limited colors. That is the whole skill. For school-colored uncommons that are not characters, go back to Hexhaven. For rankings, go back to early cards. This roundup is the cast list, not the pick order.
